Volatile stock markets failed to deter investors in March, with UK investors adding a net £1.38bn to equity funds, the best month of the year so far for the asset class.

- North American equities (mainly US-focused funds) absorbed £1.77bn, the third best month on record
- Trading volumes in North American funds jumped – indicating strong disagreement between bulls and bears
